Spaces allow Alumio partners with a Spaces license to manage multiple end customers within a single Alumio environment. Instead of provisioning a separate environment per customer, you create and manage isolated Spaces within one environment. All configurations created within a Space are linked to that Space, ensuring clear separation between customers or projects. You can also grant specific users access to a single Space rather than the entire environment. By default, every environment has one Space –– the Default Space –– which cannot be edited or deleted. Navigate to More → Admin panel → Spaces to create and manage Spaces.

What Spaces can do

  • Isolate configurations and data per customer or project within a single environment.
  • Grant users access to a specific Space only, without exposing the rest of the environment.
  • Assign dedicated Data Engines per Space based on your license.
  • Each Space has its own unique webhook and proxy URLs, viewable under Access control → Information.

Cancelling and reactivating Spaces

Spaces are contracted annually and renew automatically. System administrators can cancel a Space from the Space Management page. The Default Space cannot be cancelled. A cancelled Space can be reactivated before its expiry date. If it expires without reactivation, it is automatically deleted and the record will show a Deleted status with the expiration date highlighted in red.

Granting users access to a Space

Users can be granted access to a Space in two ways: from within the Space via Access control > Users, or by a system administrator via the Admin panel → Spaces → Users tab. Users added at the Space level have access to that Space only.

Limits and FAQ

How many Spaces and Data Engines do I receive? This depends on your Spaces license. The default includes 32 Spaces and 64 Data Engines, with a maximum of 2 Data Engines per Space. Why do I see Audit trail twice in the menu? One Audit trail is scoped to the currently active Space under Access control. The other, in the Admin panel, covers all Spaces across the entire environment. Can I use a VPN connection with a Spaces license? No. VPN connections are only available for dedicated single-customer Alumio environments.
